Cathedral

est un groupe anglais de doom metal/stoner metal.
Le groupe a été fondé au début des années 1990 par Lee Dorrian, ex-chanteur[1] du groupe Napalm Death, Garry Jennings du groupe Acid Reign et par Mark Griffiths qui était roadie pour le groupe Carcass. Lee Dorrian venait à l'époque de quitter Napalm Death, car il n'appréciait pas le virage Death metal que prenait le groupe. Son envie de fonder Cathedral est venue quand il a rencontré Garry Jennings et Mark Griffiths et qu'ils aient parlés de leur gout commun pour les groupes de Doom metal comme Candlemass, Dream Death, Pentagram, Trouble, et Witchfinder General.

Le doom, c'est un peu mou, mais les meilleurs groupes du genre sont tout de même sympas à écouter, tels Cathedral, j'aime bien.
