Amon Amarth

est un groupe de death mélodique suédois fondé en 1992 à Tumba. Le groupe est souvent cité comme faisant partie du mouvement viking metal parce qu'il aborde des thèmes reliés aux Vikings et à la mythologie scandinave. Le nom du groupe signifie Montagne du Destin en sindarin, langue inventée par J. R. R. Tolkien.

Un poil répétitif et lassant, ce groupe n'en reste pas moins un des piliers de la scène death mélo et je pense qu'il est en train de devenir un des groupes cultes du metal et ils le resteront dans quelques décennies de part leurs excellentes qualités.
